Upstate Business Provides Significant In-Kind Donation to Reedy River Nonprofit

Greenville, SC (November 23, 2021) – With exclusive in-kind assistance from KeyMark, Inc., of Liberty, SC, Friends of the Reedy River (FoRR) has achieved substantial operational savings and efficiency in conducting its annual cleanup events. Using their advanced technical expertise and proprietary software, KeyMark’s efforts enable online completion of FoRR’s legal forms required before volunteers can participate in the organization’s events. Previously, manual completion and tracking of these waiver forms imposed a significant administrative burden on FoRR’s efforts in preparing for its all-volunteer cleanup events; annually requiring thousands of pages of paper documentation and countless hours of document preparation, distribution, collecting, and maintenance.

To accomplish digitization of these forms enabling their online completion, KeyMark provided 25 hours of expert engineer consultation and coding time, plus a year of hosting services, with a total value of over $12,000 as an in-kind donation to FoRR. This philanthropic outreach was made possible through the KeyMark Charitable Council.

Scott Butler, incoming president of FoRR’s board of directors said, “From an administrative logistical standpoint, making sure that hundreds of volunteers completed the appropriate waiver forms – two for each person, depending on whether they reside in the City or the County – consumed an inordinate about of our volunteer board members’ time in planning and carrying out FoRR’s spring and fall cleanups. While KeyMark can put a value on this in-kind donation, for us, having these forms digitized for online completion is invaluable.”

They envision a safe, clean, and accessible river corridor that enhances the quality of life for all residents, businesses, and visitors. FoRR carries out this work through education, action, and advocacy.
